St.Mary’s College is under the management of Congregation of Mother of Carmel (CMC), a religious order for women founded by St.Chavara Kurakose Elias. CMC Constitution article 97 enumerates CMC Education Policy as follows: “Education is not just a profession but a sacred call, a great apostolate through which we participate in the teaching mission of the Church. Our aim is to pursuit of intellectual and professional excellence should be the total formation of the human person as much for her/his own enrichment as for the service of the society and the nation in the spirit of Christ”. It is with this spirit the college management plan for the activities of the whole college. It is very much seen in the Structure, day-to-day work and total maintenance of the College Library. With proud we recall the period where the First Public Library of Thrissur District was started functioning in St.Mary’s College.
